01 / THE VISUAL LANGUAGE
Thick, stable outlines. Flat worlds with hard shadows. One character barely blinks; another loses the plot. The comedy lives in the space between them.
An original acting exercise, built with the style’s ink helper. Two neutral figures explore expression and timing; your film supplies its own cast and story. Starts paused.
Dark, irregular contours hold flat fills and contained shadows. Keep their texture fixed across frames and readable through close-ups and wide shots.
Let lids, pupils, brows and posture disagree. Hold a pose long enough to read it, then stagger the next reaction.
Establish the ordinary, show the absurd, cut to the face. Sometimes the best punchline is a completely quiet beat.

03 / BEHIND THE REACTION
At 24 fps, hold facial drawings on twos where useful. Keep contours and resting poses fixed; use smooth, purposeful travel. Blinks and expressions carry a quiet beat without body or camera shake.
Establish a relationship in a two-shot. Use an insert to explain the object, and a close-up for the response. Carry space and motion across cuts.
Contrast the voices. Put effects on the action, keep the synth score out of the dialogue, and make intentional silence truly quiet. Review picture, motion and listening separately.
