Make the command land.
An oversized word hits, settles, then retreats to a corner. Clear the burst before the action begins. Leave the working hands in view.
THE FINISHED FILM
STYLE 007 / MICROGAME FRENZY
A command. A split-second decision. A very physical result. Jump between handmade worlds, then come home to the same gloriously loud stage.
Watch the finished filmsAn original, interactive study of the style’s visual grammar. Starts paused; select a material or scrub any frame. This is a silent demonstration, not a finished film.
01 / HOW THE WORLD WORKS
Every task should feel newly made. The character, the clock and the consequences hold the film together.
An oversized word hits, settles, then retreats to a corner. Clear the burst before the action begins. Leave the working hands in view.
A hand meets a tool. The tool changes an object. Hold the result long enough to read; a decorative gesture cannot carry the action.
Return to a recognizable stage and a finite life counter. A failure leaves a physical consequence. Let a later challenge reuse what the character learned.
02 / THE FILM HAS A PULSE
Tighten the commands, actions and stage returns together. Give each medium its own instruments and foley. Before the final impact, leave a real moment of quiet.
A timing sketch for your film. Picture, voice, score and effects follow one frame timeline.
03 / MAKE IT YOURS
Bring a topic, an audience and a running time. Turn each idea into a small, visible task with an unmistakable outcome.

TRY THIS IN CODEX
Make an original microgame film from my topic, audience and running time. Give each round a short command, one physical action and a clear result. Change the material between rounds while preserving the character’s identity. Use one timeline for picture, voice and sound. Inspect the encoded film and refine it before delivery.Get the reusable prompt ↗
04 / INSIDE THE TOOLKIT
Includes independent drawing, character, action and material helpers, plus an empty input contract. A reusable scene renderer, narration, score are authored for each production.
Indexed pixel buffers, character-built terminals, thin technical drawings, wax pigment and wet/dry ink. A material changes the drawing itself, not just the overlay.
Keep cameras, commands and sound on integer frames. Inspect hand-to-tool contact, replay framing and small details at delivery size, then watch and listen to the final file.
05 / REFERENCE & ORIGINS
The style guide draws on Lemomo’s Microgame film and lemo-opuscar. The retained helpers and this interactive page are independently written. Explore the style reference ↗
